The work
Development of a new National Freight Model (NFM) to replace existing freight modelling approaches
- multimodal freight model capable of estimating current and future freight demand and flows
- support analysis of domestic and international freight movements
- assess impacts of changes to infrastructure, land use, economic conditions, logistics behaviours and government policy interventions
- enable testing of alternative scenarios and sensitivities
- operate within DfT's Google Cloud Platform environment
