NIST is planning repair and modernization of the Building 215 cleanroom in Gaithersburg, Maryland, covering about 1,800 square meters including about 750 square meters of Class 100 space. Work includes replacing approximately 1,200 terminal supply HEPA filters, about 70 variable air volume terminal units, about 54 airflow monitoring devices and about 32 exhaust air control valves, plus ductwork repair, testing, balancing, commissioning and cleanroom certification. The work is phased through cleanroom outages so research continues in unaffected bays.
