The Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration seek small and medium-sized businesses to license and manufacture low-volume, high-impact technologies developed at DOE/NNSA sites. The program, called BUILTT, uses a Cost Reduction License to allow production and supply to government agencies at a set price. It is conducted in phases including technology identification, business vetting, matchmaking, and license execution.
Who can win it
- Must be a U.S.-based small or medium-sized business as defined by the SBA
- Preference may be given to businesses in regions of participating DOE/NNSA sites
- Preference may be given to SBA 8(a) or HUBZone designated businesses
