Los Alamos National Laboratory offers licensing of a platform that builds nanoscale discs from native bacterial membrane lipids, using the scaffold protein MSP1D1. It was demonstrated with Yersinia pestis and supports vaccine, drug and diagnostic research. Antibodies specific to E. coli lipopolysaccharides and Y. pestis membrane lipids are separately licensable. Development status is technology readiness level 3, with a US patent pending.
