Reinforcement of two cable-stayed motorway bridges over the Rhone at Saint-Maurice, for experienced bridge contractors
The contract covers advance works to strengthen and repair two cable-stayed bridges carrying the N09 motorway over the Rhone at Saint-Maurice, between the Arzillier tunnels and the Saint-Maurice covered cutting. Work includes ultra-high-performance fibre-reinforced concrete cladding of the pylons, steel box reinforcement of pylon heads, rock anchors in the cable anchorage blocks, external prestressing and bearing replacement at the Valais abutment, localised strengthening of the steel deck and cable anchor gussets, and replacement of the bridge restraint devices.
