How filing works in New Zealand
You work on the portal under your own login. In New Zealand, the client adds you as a named user on its account on GETS: you prepare, upload and, on the client's written go-ahead, submit under your own login (we confirm this with the portal before your first bid).
The client keeps its own login, the administrator role and every signature only it may give. You never use its credentials.

- Tax agent registered with Inland Revenue as an intermediary (often a…. Inland Revenue requires a signed authority to act from each client before linking; a client account can have only one intermediary of the same type linked per tax account; a tax agent must act for 10 or more other clients to hold tax agent status. CA ANZ/CPA rules on referral fees and independence were not verified (sites blocked automated reading).
- Lawyer (barrister and/or solicitor holding a NZ Law Society…. Lawyers are bound by the NZLS Conduct and Client Care Rules; the specific rules on referral fees, commissions and fee-sharing with a non-lawyer platform were NOT verified (legislation.govt.nz blocked automated reading) - check before any revenue share or referral arrangement.
- Notary public (New Zealand Society of Notaries member). Documents for apostille must be notarised by a New Zealand notary public, not certified by a JP or solicitor; notaries may charge fees.
- Justice of the Peace (JP). Must meet the declarant in person and watch them sign; no e-signature or video call. Must NOT be used to certify documents intended for apostille.
- Tōtika member scheme assessor (e.g. Avetta) / Site Safe SiteWise…. The client must supply genuine evidence; whether a third party may complete the questionnaire on the contractor's behalf is not stated (Avetta supports multiple users per account).
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng). Registration is personal to the engineer; an overseas engineer needs a Washington Accord qualification or equivalent and assessment (8-10 weeks panel review).
- Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP). Licence is held by an individual practitioner; LBPs must not carry out or supervise Restricted Building Work outside their class. Australian-registered practitioners can apply via TTMRA.
- Bid writer / tender consultant. Unregulated. GETS terms forbid letting third parties use a registration or soliciting someone else's login; NZ model RFx terms require a warranty that the bid was not prepared in collusion with a competitor, so one consultant must not serve competing bidders on the same tender.
